e-fit Simulator by TUKA is a clothing simulation tool for designers, pattern makers and manufacturers. Whether you need to present your style decisions, test the fit of a garment, or have a fit session with people all over the globe, e-fit is an easy-to-use and accurate virtual sample making tool.
The same patterns used to cut actual samples are used by e-fit Simulator, and the virtual fit models are created using body scan data of real fit models. Dozens of preset cloth types can be blended together to test garments using the intended fabric, and additional presets can be created by the user.

Everyone's talking about this new idea, called e-fitting. ‘e’ stands for Electronic fitting. It is by far the biggest buzz in the fashion industry. You’ve seen magazine articles on the concept, and presentations in various trade shows.

Successful fashion hinges on ideas and imagination, and it is the designers that first come up with the concept for their new garment. Instead of making a sample to view and make changes for final look and cost, 3D simulation allows VIRTUAL SAMPLE, a quick cost and the fit changes that automatically adjust the 2 D FLAT patterns.With 68% of the total cycle time taken presently in product development and approvals, reducing this time and cost has become one of the major concerns.
Through TUKAweb, you can send in your patterns and we will electronically sew and FIT on your model specifications, e-mail you the 3D image that you can 'ROTATE', 'ZOOM' and even add comments and send to your sales and merchandising deptartment for their comments. All this at a fraction of time and cost of making first sample that requires changes before making the FINAL SAMPLE.

The Name e-fit is Born

One solution to this problem has been introduced by TUKATECH. In 2004, TUKATECH began work on a new software product that it dubbed the e-fit Simulator by TUKA. TUKATECH’s goal was to create realistic garments on the computer from actual patterns, so that designers, patternmakers and buyers could make fit comments and suggest alterations more quickly.
The company wanted this “digital garment” to be portable, so that people all over the world could view the garment, and it should be easy, so that patternmakers of all levels could use it as part of their development process. A year after original discussions, TUKATECH released e-fit Simulator to the market, and eventually the name e-fit stuck and is quickly becoming a standard term.

Realistic Cloth Simulation
e-fit simulator's cloth dynamics and physical simulation produce very accurate results. The cloth uses real physical properties of cloth, including the flexibility, stretch, shearing, weight, air resistance and others. Rather than looking like rubber, e-fit Simulator’s cloth drapes like actual cloth should & changing the type of cloth makes a difference to the way the garment drapes. e-fit Simulator is designed to show you how a garment fits, not to show you a good-fitting garment.

Built-in Animation, Stitching, Off-line Sewing and Other Features
e-fit simulator includes built-in features that set them apart from others. The most obvious feature is the ability to animate the model inside the software, and to drape several garments together. Every garment reacts to every other garment unless you tell it not to & when the virtual model moves, so do the clothes. E-fit Simulator allows you to drape different parts of a garment separately.

Custom Virtual Models
Their virtual models are not generated only by a computer, but are created by their staff to directly reflect the real fit model. North American women have different body shapes from Asian women & because they have real people interacting with the model, they are able to achieve superior accuracy in their virtual forms. They also regularly create models from body scan data of real fit models, to ensure that the shape of the body is correct for proper virtual fit sessions.

Drape Very Complicated Garments
E-fit Simulator is not limited to t-shirts and simple pants or dresses. All kinds of garments can be created & tested, including garments with fish darts, slashes, gathers, plackets, etc., even belt loops and pocket facings/bags. Garments can be creased, buttons can be buttoned, collars can be folded, etc. Bows can be sewn, lace or frills can be added to garment hems, hoods can be draped to rest on the model’s head or lay back.

Easy Export
The output of e-fit Simulator are files that anyone can use, without having to download additional software. Pictures can be made and sent via email, and any computer can view them. Movie files created in e-fit Simulator are of standard types that are universally accepted & not proprietary.
